Inventory Accountant
Location: Loveland, Colorado (Onsite)
Job Type: 1 Year Contract
Pay rate: $30-$35/hour (depending on experience)
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Inventory Accountant to join our client. In this role, you will be responsible for performing daily analysis of gross margin, inventory, and cost accounting reports for a designated region. You will collaborate closely with various personnel to ensure accurate reporting and resolution of any exceptions or issues. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities of an Inventory Accountant:
- Perform daily analysis of gross margin and inventory reports for a designated region.
- Work closely with regional managers and personnel to ensure accurate reporting of margins and inventory transactions.
- Assist finance managers and analysts in researching inventory transactions that result in questionable margins or inventory levels.
- Complete monthly reports to ensure proper internal controls over inventory transactions.
- Conduct validity checks before posting inventory adjustments.
- Assist with consignment inventory contracts.
- Participate in yearly physical counts of inventory, including reconciliation of inventory counts and adjustment of variances.
- Handle various accounting functions, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and transactional review.
- Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
- Travel approximately 5% of the time for meetings, branch visits, and inventory counts/recounts.
Minimum Qualifications of an Inventory Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 1+ year of accounting experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
