Position Summary: This position is responsible for supporting the Finance Department at our Sturgeon Bay, WI shipyard. Significant heavy manufacturing takes place both in several fab shops, as well as on the waterfront across our vast, 63-acre facility. The successful candidate will support the 1,000 working men and woman on our waterfront by participating in shadowing accounting department staff members, and learning to track and analyze financial information while assisting in other accounting activities.
Detailed Description:
* Work with Project Managers/Program Managers to develop EACs (Estimate At Completion) including accurate labor, burden and material forecasts based on production guidance.
* Work with Scheduler on manning plans for projects.
* Provide updates to finance leadership with regard to progress metrics and deviations from plans.
* Work with project managers, purchasing department personnel and foremen to update project material cost.
* Understand POC (Percentage-Of-Completion) accounting as to the ongoing recognition of revenue and income related to longer-term projects.
* Understand how to work as part of the Finance team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support FBS.
* Willingness to take on additional tasks or projects to learn more accounting and office operations.
* Ability and willingness to engage in highly energetic pursuits on the waterfront.
* Maintain a commitment to and promote the Quality and Environmental, Health & Safety Policies.

Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma
* Must be actively working towards an Associate's Degree or higher in a financial discipline or a related field
* Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles
* Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
* Motivation and desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible

* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Values efficiency, accuracy, responsibility and accountability
