About the Job
- Responsible for supporting EHS Specialist and Regional EHS Manager with EHS policies and procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits under the supervision of EHS and Site leadership.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Quality and Operations
- Assist with collecting, analyzing, and preparing required reports for EHS metrics.
- Assist with EHS communications including safety committees, toolbox talks and project report outs.
- Complete assigned EHS project over the course of the internship.
Education & Experience
- Currently pursuing a degree or recent graduates in Environment Health Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Human Factors, Industrial Hygiene or similar fields.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytic skills and experience with metrics
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Basic understanding of OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other EHS regulations
Working Conditions
- Up to 40 hours a week Monday-Friday
- Working outside in hot conditions
- Clean room environment
Physical Requirements
- Stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time.
- Lift up to 25 lbs.
- Participate in respirator program.
Safety Requirements
All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.
