About the Job
JR Motorsports, a leading NASCAR motorsports operation, is seeking a skilled, motivated interior mechanic. The qualified mechanic will be able to install, repair, adjust, and disassemble all interior related systems and components, including but not limited to seat and steering wheel modifications, air conditioning modifications, and electrical wiring of related interior systems.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Responsible for inspecting and maintaining driver compartment and race car interior as it relates to electrical components and driver personal safety equipment.
- Maintains the driver apparel and necessary driver safety equipment.
- Ensure the hauler is fully stocked with interior component replacement parts and necessary equipment.
- Participate in the final safety inspection of the car prior to departure for the track.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required; Must have a thorough understanding of mechanical components and car systems. Must have own personal tools. Strong mechanical knowledge required. Basic fabrication skills required. Knowledge of dial calipers and basic measuring tools needed. Must be familiar with body and chassis repair
Experience: 4 plus years of experience
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.

Other Requirements: Ability to work a flexible work schedule. Ability to travel if needed.
Communication Skills: Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel. Will work in a team environment and must take direction in an active environment
Physical Demands: Requires vision (near, distance, depth), sense of touch, and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses, hearing protection. Constantly stands, walks, manually manipulates, reaches outward, lifts/carries up to 100 pounds, and pushes/pull up to 25 pounds. Frequently reaches above shoulder, climbs, crawls, squats or kneels, bends, and pushes/pulls up to 40 pounds. Occasionally sits, lifts/carries over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.
Verbal and Writing Ability: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Math Ability: Basic math skills required.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily works indoors.
