This position requires a dynamic individual who can effectively balance multiple tasks, from financial forecasting to strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial planning and forecasting process, ensuring the company has a clear and executable financial strategy
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports, including revenue, cash flow, and other key performance indicators, to the executive team and board of directors
- Develop and implement effective financial management strategies to enhance profitability and cash flow
- Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage internal controls
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization
- Evaluate and advise on the financial impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs, and regulatory action
- Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or related advanced degree preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is highly desirable
- 5+ years of experience in a CFO or equivalent role, preferably within the technology industry
- Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Solid understanding of data analysis, risk management, and performance metrics
- Strong knowledge of corporate finance law and proficiency in managing financial software
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present and explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence – ability to motivate staff
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Significant experience in or knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting
- Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
