SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the determination and review of customer requirements through direct communication with the customer as described in Section 8.2 of the SCC Business Management Manual. This position has the authority to negotiate contracts on behalf of the company – within guidelines established by the Vice President of Sales & Marketing – to meet objectives for order intake as established in the annual Business Plan. This position also has the responsibility and authority to speak on behalf of the customer on all issues related to customer orders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as main conduit for customer communications.
- Determine and understand customer requirements and communicate those customer requirements
throughout the organization.
- Respond to requests for quotation from customers, follow-up on quotes and enter orders resulting
from quotes.
- Review orders entered by other Sales Representatives for accuracy.
- Respond to customer requests for expedites. Communicate order status to customer.
- Participate in Corrective Action investigations and Material Review Boards resulting from customer
complaints and or the production of non-conforming product.
- Maintain clear records of communications with customers.
- Travel (up to 25%) to promote sales at customers’ locations, visit trade exhibits, etc.
- Understand and follow written procedures. Seek and communicate opportunities for improving
company processes.
- Responsible for the completion of assigned duties on time and within budget.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong interpersonal skills, good organizational skills, good oral/written communication skills,
sufficient mathematical ability to calculate sales margins, etc
- 1+ year of sales experience.
- Understanding of AS9100 Quality Management System.
