Summary/objective
Goodfellow has an open position for an Inside Parts Sales Representative. The Inside Parts Sales Representative plays a critical role in supporting customers in the crushing and conveying industry by providing expert assistance in identifying, sourcing, and delivering parts for crushers, conveyors, and related equipment. This role requires a deep understanding of the industry, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Wage is a base pay plus commission.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Support:
- Assist customers in identifying the correct parts for crushing and conveying equipment, including crushers, screens, belts, motors, and gearboxes.
- Provide accurate pricing, availability, and technical details for parts via phone, email, or in-person interactions.
- Offer recommendations on wear parts, maintenance kits, and upgrades to improve equipment performance and longevity.
- Order Management:
- Accurately enter and process parts orders in the system, ensuring prompt fulfillment and delivery.
- Track and communicate order statuses, including handling backorders and coordinating expedited shipments when necessary.
- Process returns, exchanges, and warranty claims in compliance with company policies.
- Inventory Coordination:
- Collaborate with inventory and procurement teams to maintain optimal stock levels for high-demand parts.
- Monitor and report on trends in parts usage to anticipate future inventory needs.
- Sales Growth:
- Proactively promote parts, maintenance solutions, and service contracts to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to foster repeat business and referrals.
- Stay informed on new products, equipment upgrades, and industry developments to educate customers and identify sales opportunities.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with service technicians and field teams to ensure accurate parts are available for repairs and installations.
- Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to resolve technical issues and source specialized components.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in parts sales, preferably in the crushing, conveying, or heavy equipment industry.
- Strong knowledge of crushing and conveying equipment, including brands and common components.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems, parts catalogs, and CRM software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift and move parts or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
- Office-based environment with occasional visits to the warehouse or customer sites.
- May involve some travel to attend training sessions or customer meetings.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with crushing and conveying systems, including jaw crushers, cone crushers, vibrating screens, and belt conveyors.
- Experience working with OEM and aftermarket parts.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
