About the Job
The Industrial Engineer will drive continuous improvement throughout the end-to-end Supply Chain process at WSC by analyzing and streamlining business processes to maximize efficiencies and productivity with an effort to reduce costs. This position combines a strong foundation of ERP Systems and Processes with the end-to-end Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations knowledge to develop, improve, and the operations for WSC.
Responsibilities:Duties to include (not limited to):
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of ERP System (INFOR-M3).
- Support the design and development of the Distribution Model and Inventory Management strategies through data and statistical analysis.
- Support transportation/dispatch team to understand variability and seasonality to plan inbound/outbound volume annually.
- Strategize on the most effective delivery routes of products to end customers to achieve the lowest landed cost.
- Design, develop, document, maintain standard work documentation and workflows for system processes and procedures.
- Optimize warehouse layout, material flow, and inventory management to minimize bottlenecks and maximize throughput.
- Provide technical/functional support cross-functionally to improve workflow and troubleshoot problem areas.
- Conduct and prepare labor and material cost estimates as required.
- Participate in product innovation efforts to ensure cost-effective designs.
- Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Communicates both horizontally and vertically across the organization.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
A WSC Industrial Engineer will possess and/or demonstrate the ability to:
- Strong analytical skills, able to synthesize considerable and complex data.
- Hands-on work with spreadsheets and Process Maps are required in this role.
- Creatively use modern technology in end to end Supply Chain Planning process.
- Familiarity with today’s best practice processes and concepts relative to Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Distribution
- Effectively communicate at all levels within the organization.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet expected goals on time, with limited direction.
- Good managerial skills and the ability to make critical decisions and use cost-effective methods in manufacturing process.
- Enthusiasm and have a positive approach to problem-solving.
Education / Experience:
- BS degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or closely related discipline.
- SQL, PowerBI, Minitab, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access proficiency required.
- ASQ certification Six Sigma Green Belt desirable but not required.
- 2+ years of Engineering experience in a Manufacturing or Distribution environment desirable, but not required.
