SUMMARY:
Understands and reinforces the Company vision of being the best producer of steel pipe and tube in North America.
Keeps the tube mills, slitter, and fabricating machines functioning at optimal efficiency. Utilizes problem-solving skills to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues. Takes the initiative to perform preventive maintenance between breakdowns to effectively reduce downtime. Documents all maintenance and repairs and enters purchase requisitions to maintain productivity.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to observe, diagnose, and troubleshoot malfunctions in machinery and equipment
- Perform all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic maintenance, and repair of machinery and equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Maintain, manage, and prioritize all repair requests as directed by the maintenance supervisor
OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Coordinate with storeroom the necessary repair materials for approved work orders
- Enter purchase requisitions for spare/replacement parts
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of electrical and mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in the steel industry or other comparable industry and/or associate degree in industrial/electrical maintenance
- Excellent technical skills in hydraulic, pneumatic, PLCs, and electrical/mechanical systems and equipment
- Preventative maintenance and lean skills
- Able to work in an environment without climate control - warehouse type setting
- Able to work overtime and/or various shifts
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to pass our electrical maintenance exam
- Skilled in PLCs, motor controls, sensors, limit switches, electro/mechanical systems, and 3-phase 480vt equipment
- Demonstrate knowledge of technical skills to include but not limited to welding, fabricating, plumbing, and comprehending diagrams
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
- Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and the internet, with the ability to navigate through in-house developed programs and electronic documents
