Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled & experienced journeyman electrician to join our team and contribute to our company's success. As an electrician, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. Your expertise in diagnosing electrical problems, implementing solutions, and adhering to industry regulations will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our electrical systems.
Responsibilities:
· Install, inspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems; including wiring, equipment power & control cabinets, lighting, circuits, outlets, and switches in an industrial setting.
· Perform electrical installations for new projects, renovations, and upgrades, ensuring compliance with local and national electrical codes and regulations.
· Perform major overhauls, corrective and preventive maintenance on all plant equipment including critical utilities, conveyor lines, laser systems, inspection systems, roll coaters, vacuum pumps, drive motors, actuators, cylinders, heat exchangers
· Performs repairs, troubleshooting and diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and controls components of the manufacturing equipment.
· Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, using specialized tools and equipment to identify the root cause of problems and implement effective solutions.
· Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to plan and execute electrical projects, providing input on technical aspects and timelines.
· Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to prevent downtime, including cleaning, testing, and replacing faulty components.
· Maintain accurate records of work performed, including diagrams, schematics, and documentation of repairs and installations.
· Ensure the safety of work sites by following established safety procedures, guidelines, and regulations to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
· Stay current with industry trends, technological advancements, and changes in electrical codes to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
· Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries, explaining electrical issues, and offering recommendations for repairs and upgrades.
· Train and mentor apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge in the field.
Requirements
· Completion of an electrician program at a technical or trade school required with satisfactory completion of required California exams. Journeyman experience Required.
· 3+ years of electrical experience in a hands-on role.
· Ability to navigate PLC Programming (RSLogix 5000, SLC500, PLC5, Modicon, TI530).
· Experience with Fanuc robots; teach-routines, maintenance and repairs preferred.
· Familiar with motion controllers; servos, VFDs, stepper motors and CNC equipment
· Comfortable in VFDs with regards of install & minor programming.
· Comfortable reading and understanding electrical schematics, diagrams and manuals.
· Experience building panels and other various electrical control construction tasks.
· Understand PID loops and how to troubleshoot & diagnose.
· Working knowledge of electrical theory, principles, materials & equipment.
· Demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work.
· Excellent time management and ability to prioritize.
· Ability to calculate basic mathematical problems.
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
· Potential shift options:
o 5 – 8hr shifts: 11:30am – 8:00pm
o 5 – 8hr shifts: 6:30am – 3:00pm (Wednesday – Sunday)
o 4 - 10hr shifts: 10:00am – 8:00pm (Wednesday - Saturday)
