For over 32 years, Hospice of Wichita Falls has been the only non-profit community-based hospice in the area, providing services in 12 North Texas counties. Our wonderful nursing staff meets our patients and families where they are, private homes, nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, and our free standing 12 bed inpatient center. Your life as a Center LVN
Your role is very important to our patients and organization. We meet our patients where they are and this position will serve our patients in Wichita, Archer, Clay, Jack Montague and Young counties. We will rely on you to ensure that we support our staff in making sure that Plans of Care are reviewed and revised as needed. We work as a team so there will be a need to interact with other members of our team to provide emotional support to patients and families and promote and develop strenghts. You will also act as back when the Unit Clerk isn't available. Our schedules are generally 7:00 am to 7:00 pm for days and 7:00 pm to 7:00 am for nights working on an 84 hour block schedule.
Job Qualifications
- Ability to be self-directed and function independently under direction of RN and carry out physician's orders in a manner that ensures patient safety.
- Ability to understand the physical, psychosocial and spiritual concerns/problems of terminally ill patients and families.
- Ability to assess, evaluate and perform the necessary clinical skills involved in providing nursing care to patients and jointly planning care and patient outcomes.
- Demonstrate problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate understanding of disease process and expected changes.
- Ability to relate well with patients, families, community at large and health care professionals.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to be at work as scheduled and alert/awake.
- Ability to advance in computer knowledge.
- Demonstrate competency as defined.
