The IT Project Manager will report into the Head of Architecture and Governance. The IT Project Manager will be responsible to manage and execute various size technology projects driving to deliver quality projects on time, within budget and scope. The role will require liaising with internal and external parties and will focus on overseeing the management of key projects including planning, organising, stakeholder management and reporting, resources, managing issues and risks, leading, and controlling project activities.
The Head of Architecture and Governance will identify project opportunities for the IT Project Manager related to staying with supported platform technologies, driving consolidation and simplification initiatives, and cost reduction opportunities. The project delivery will include (but not limited to) infrastructure, operations and end-user setup IT developments to support the business to achieve business goals related to cost effective and supported platform technologies, group consolidation and create better end-user experience.
The individual will hold project management skills and knowledge of the tools and methodologies required to run a number and variety of projects simultaneously.
- Specify the deliverables (products/outputs) and identify, prioritise and schedule the resources needed to meet the critical success factors of the project. Identify and quantify project risks and plan to manage them. Specify the necessary activities and work packages and the plan to implement them.
- Work with stakeholders establishing and keeping-up contact with those having a stake in the processes and outputs of the project. Report project status at an acceptable level and frequency, and discuss requirements, changes, budgets and performance whenever appropriate to do so.
- Identify problems and their underlying causes by capturing and analysing information from a wide range of sources. Develop and evaluate alternative solutions and make decisions based on tested assumptions about the potential benefits of each to reduce or eliminate risks to project success.
- Set standards for work to be completed within agreed times and to check that these are observed by everyone doing work on, or supplying, the project.
- Keep control over the implementation stage of the project by regularly and thoroughly checking performance against schedule, budget and requirements. Record and report accurately relevant progress against milestones and expenditure and communicate this information to the appropriate stakeholders. Initiate prompt corrective action as required.
- Keep up to date with technology developments, especially in the area of end user computing, as well as project management methodology.
- PRINCE2 accredited, or equivalent
- Well developed project management skills and knowledge of the tools and methodologies required to run a number and variety of projects simultaneously

- Required to travel independently throughout the UK as required by business need
