The IT Manager will work closely with various departments to understand their technological needs and develop innovative solutions to support the organization's business objectives. This role involves staying updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices to foster continuous improvement and innovation within the IT environment. Acting as the number 2 to the Director of IT, the IT Manager reports directly to them and contributes to a collaborative approach to drive the organization's technological advancement. The successful candidate will have a personal drive for excellence, strong customer service skills, be resourceful and forward-thinking, well-organized, and capable of prioritizing multiple issues effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud services
- Ensure network stability, security, and performance, with a focus on proactive monitoring and maintenance
- Administer firewalls, VPNs, and threat detection systems to safeguard the organization's IT environment
Security & Compliance:
- Implement and manage security protocols, including firewall configurations, intrusion detection, and encryption
- Ensure the organization's IT infrastructure is compliant with data protection regulations
- Conduct regular security audits and assessments to prevent potential vulnerabilities
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide hands-on support for network, hardware, and software issues
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to network performance, security breaches, and software issues
- Manage and prioritize IT support requests from employees and departments
Project Management & Optimization:
- Manage IT projects, including infrastructure upgrades and the integration of new systems
- Optimize the use of technology resources and identify opportunities to improve network efficiency and security
Vendor & Equipment Management:
- Coordinate with external vendors for hardware and software procurement, installation, and maintenance
- Manage IT assets, including tracking and maintaining inventory of hardware, software, and licensing agreements
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments to ensure technology solutions align with business goals
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff in a clear and understandable way
Physical Tasks & Maintenance:
- Routinely lift up to 50 pounds, climb stepladders, and work around server racks and other IT equipment
- Move equipment and furnishings as required for setup and maintenance purposes
Successful Candidates Will Possess:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT management, network administration, or a related role
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud computing, and cybersecurity
- Experience with security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and threat detection systems
- Ubiquiti experience preferred
- Experience with 10G networking preferred
- Experience with Google Workspace preferred
- Technical Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with network configurations, security setups, and cloud-based solutions
- Ability to manage both routine maintenance tasks and large-scale infrastructure projects
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with both technical and non-technical personnel
- A self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who can manage tasks independently and with a team
- Ability to prioritize tasks based on their impact on business operations
- Strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced work environment

Salary Range: The salary target for this role is $85,000 - $105,000. Final offer amounts depend on multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and most recent market data. This position is eligible for an annual bonus based on personal and company performance, in addition to our robust benefits package. The final candidate hired may potentially have less or more experience than originally posted as per job description, and if this happens, an updated salary range may be used for final hiring package.
