Job Summary
You will be vital in supporting and maintaining an organization's infrastructure. You will be responsible for assisting in designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's IT systems, including cloud hardware, software, and networks. Your primary focus will be to ensure the reliability, security, and optimal performance of the organization's IT infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities
General IT Infrastructure Operations and Support
- Deploy, configure, and manage Azure resources.
- Ensure cloud environments are secured and utilizing industry best practices.
- Diagnose and solve issues related to Azure services and infrastructure.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Azure environment.
- Manage and maintain VMware servers and services.
- Typical server maintenance and break fix issues
Additional Duties
- Collaborate with IT and IS team members to resolve system and user incidents and fulfill authorized user requests.
- Assist in division relocation of infrastructure equipment and services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Minimum four years of IT infrastructure engineering/network administration work.
- 2+ years of Azure work in a corporate or consulting environment.
- Demonstrated successful work experience with IT project delivery and daily operations, including as many of the following Azure services as possible:
- Virtual Server Management (storage, network, etc)
- Load Balancer / WAF implementation and management
- Enterprise Application / App Registration
- Relevant and current Azure infrastructure preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of Azure infrastructure.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting skills, including relevant subject area knowledge sufficient to break down problems into components and test methodically to find root causes; troubleshooting skills related to IT infrastructure and security specifically needed.
- Moderate project management skills, from developing work breakdown structures (WBS) through work effort estimation, timeline development, task tracking, status reporting, and team coordination, and actively documenting those elements.
- Must be able to document – using writing, screenshots, and video – usage instructions for end users and system configuration information for administrators.
- Increasing familiarity with IT Infrastructure topics, terms, practices, emerging technologies, and sources of additional information and training.
- Highly proficient verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to break down complex technical subjects and relate them to business managers and executives in non-technical roles.
- Familiarity with Information Security policies on Windows Operating Systems.
- Familiarity with VMware vSphere server virtualization and management methods.
- Familiarity with PowerShell, PSExec, and other command line-based utilities.
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Typical office environment, with the ability to work in the office and remotely. Evening or weekend work may be required as needed. Some travel will be required. Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs. This is a hybrid position; time will be required to be onsite; no remote-only applications will be accepted.
