Job Details
The ICU Nurse Manager is responsible for the operational and clinical management of the Intensive Care Unit. This leadership role ensures the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient care, while fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have extensive nursing experience in critical care, strong leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring and developing nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the ICU, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
Lead and manage nursing staff, including hiring, training, evaluating, and providing professional development opportunities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans that align with best practices.
Monitor patient care metrics and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and staff regarding patient care and treatment plans.
Manage budgets and resources effectively to support the unit’s operational goals.
Participate in strategic planning and policy development for the ICU and broader health system.
Maintain current knowledge of best practices, trends, and innovations in critical care nursing.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
Current California RN license.
Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience in an ICU setting.
Previous management or leadership experience preferred.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
