About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse (RN) **Job Specialty:** ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12-Hour Nights **Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years **License:** RN License Required **Certifications:** ACLS, BLS, NIHSS **Must-Have:** EPIC charting system experience **Job Description:** - *AUTO OFFER* for ICU Department - Typical nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:2 for critical patients; 1:5 for medical patients; 1:4 for PCU - Common patient diagnoses: COPD, pneumonia, CVA, TIA, DKA, sepsis, CHF, STEMI, neuro - RNs are required to titrate drips such as vasopressors, insulin, TNK, heparin, IV antibiotics, and sedatives - Charge nurse available on each shift; charge nurse does take assignments - Nurse aides/patient care techs: 1 tech for up to 20 patients; 2 techs for more than 20 patients - 24/7 critical care coverage with E-ICU staffed nurse and APRN - Respiratory equipment includes vents and BiPAPs; RNs are responsible for troubleshooting - Telemetry/monitor techs not available; RNs must read and interpret their own strips - Schedule managed by unit scheduler; shifts are from 1830-0700 - Weekend work every other weekend; holiday work varies based on unit needs - RNs may float to PCU and Medical floors as needed - Dress code: Navy Blue scrubs - Orientation includes: First week system onboarding and 1-2 12-hour shifts of unit-specific orientation **Additional Notes:** - Radius requirement: Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the location. - Requests for time off (RTO) should be limited to 7 days per 13-week contract. Additional requests will not be accommodated. - Familiarity with Trauma Level 2 care setting is beneficial.
