IC Layout Technician - II-VI AEROSPACE & DEFENSE

About the Job
- Collaborate with chip designers, process engineers and process integration engineers to understand the design requirements.
- Translate design requirements into physical layouts using CAD tool.
- Perform basic verification tasks including DRC and LVS
- Optimize layouts for performance, size, and manufacturability.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of layout methodologies and best practices.
- Document layout process steps and design decisions for future reference and process improvement.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve circuit designs and layout procedures.
Education & Experience
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience
- Minimum HS Diploma or equivalent
Skills
- Proficiency in layout CAD tool such as Silvaco Expert
- Proficiency in automating layout related tasks through scripting (Java Script, Python)
- Contribute to the development and improvement of layout methodologies and best practices.
- Document layout process steps and design decisions for future reference and process improvement.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve circuit designs and layout procedures.
- Good written/oral communication skill.
- Fluency in MS - Excel, Word.
- Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills.
- Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.
Working Conditions
- Will be exposed to areas where hand tools and power tools are being operated
- Will be exposed to areas where hazardous chemicals or gases are stored
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment per semi-conductor protocol/requirements
Physical Requirements
- Work in a class 100/1000 clean room for extended periods
- Wear full cleanroom attire (smock, mask, etc.)
- Work with and/or around chemicals (such as solids and acids)
- Stand for up to 4 hours at a time
- Lift up to 16-30 Pounds
- Push/Pull up to 16-30 pounds
- Sit for up to 4 hours at a time

The technician in this position has a good understanding of the design requirements and constraints, process related design rules for physical layouts. The technician can also perform design rule checks, layout vs schematics to ensure error-free layouts. The technician can also document design decisions in detail and contribute to layout improvement for better device performance, manufacturability and yields. Proficiency in automating layout related tasks through scripting is an important part of this job.
