Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Instrumentation & Electrical Designer to join our team. This role will involve leading the design and drafting efforts for various projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and company procedures to ensure the successful completion of all project-related activities. The Senior Designer will work on a range of plant, pipeline, and related facility construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee project design and drafting management, ensuring all work complies with industry and company standards.
Assign electrical equipment and instrument tag numbers, as well as conduit and cable numbers.
Resolve drawing development issues and implement changes to record drawings.
Prepare key design documents, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), general equipment layouts, facility plot plans, and equipment and instrument lists for various construction projects.
Assist in the creation of Project Scopes, Engineering/Design Scopes, and Construction Scopes of Work for contract establishment with third-party vendors.
Attend project meetings to understand customer needs and scope definitions, providing technical input for effective and efficient designs.
Assist in the review of man-hour estimates and work schedules to ensure project efficiency.
Coordinate the distribution of design packages to all stakeholders, ensuring necessary information is exchanged.
Provide design and drafting support for time-sensitive and budget-critical projects, as well as the preliminary development of potential future projects.
Communicate with vendors for material quotes and material availability, ensuring timely procurement.
Perform material take-offs and create parts lists to ensure availability of required items.
Develop material data sheets and generate material requisitions for project manager approval.
Maintain accurate records of documents and correspondence relating to technical design issues throughout project development.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of company standard drawings.
Stay up-to-date on design and drafting technologies and industry practices, ensuring expertise and access to specialty resources.
Help develop and implement specifications and procedures for improving cost efficiency in the creation and maintenance of drawings and documentation.
Collaborate with Project Managers, purchasing agents, inspectors, engineers, and contractors on design drawing content, materials, and construction-related issues.
Work with Project Managers and Engineering teams to address logistical and design challenges to ensure smooth project progress.
Provide drafting support for the daily operation of systems and coordinate with CADD Operators.
Guide others in using department tools and methods to obtain necessary information efficiently.
Be willing to travel to facility sites via air and/or automobile as required.

Qualifications:

Extensive experience in instrumentation and electrical design, with proficiency in drafting software and design standards.
Strong technical understanding of plant, pipeline, and facility design.
Excellent communication and coordination skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and vendors.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment.
Willingness to travel as needed to project sites.
