The Human Resources (HR) Project Manager (Consultant) provides direct support to the Vice President, Human Resources. Incumbent is responsible for managing HR-related special projects across a broad range of HR policies, processes, programs and initiatives. At any given time, the HR Project Manager (Consultant) could be providing support in one or more HR functions including recruitment, performance and talent management, compensation and benefits, training and organizational development.

MTPA is dedicated to improving the treatment environment for those with debilitating diseases, researching on real-world evidence, and creating hope for all facing illness.
This is a 6-month W2 contract assignment with the opportunity for contract extension or to transition to a permanent, full-time role based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities:Responsibilities of the Human Resources (HR) Project Manager :
- Manages wide-ranging HR projects, including development of an HR Dashboard capturing all HR metrics for the department, contract review and implementation, maintenance of the employee handbook, and coordination of presentations. Continually analyzes existing HR programs/processes/systems, identifies gaps, and organizes and leads additional projects, as needed, to resolve those gaps (50%):
- Creates and manages project plans to ensure deadlines are met and potential roadblocks and risks are anticipated, escalated and resolved.
- Partners across HR and with cross-functional leads to set up processes/projects for success to include tracking against project plans, capturing notes and action items in key meetings, and regularly sending out status reports to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensures that all projects deliver quality and alignment across HR and MTPA programs and drive continuous improvement.
- Performs the following recurring HR Generalist duties (40%):
- Reviews/revises HR policies and makes changes as needed to meet new Federal/state legal requirements, to promote a positive culture and/or to maintain industry competitiveness.
- Works closely with HRBPs to create and disseminate employee communications within the organization.
- Leads (or supports) the development of engaging employee events that promote a positive work culture. Duties might include tactical event planning and logistics.
- Maintains work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for assigned positions.
- Conducts and analyzes exit interviews and recommends changes as appropriate.
- Acts as back up in preparing employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training for new hires.
- Maintains accurate, auditable HR records.
- Contributes to cohesiveness and teamwork within HR and the company at-large in the performance of all duties.
- Performs the following ad hoc HRIS-related duties (10%):
- Leads HR systems activities related to updates, additional modules, etc.
- Works closely with Associate Director, Compensation to act as back up for Canadian payroll; collaborates with ADP when needed.
Qualifications of the Human Resources (HR) Project Manager :
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience in multiple functions (staffing, compensation, etc.).
- Consulting experience or HR experience in a project-based HR role is preferred.
- Experience with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems.
- Proven knowledge of broad HR processes, programs, policies and systems.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Good project management and multitasking skills; ability to juggle multiple projects, keeping them on-track with desired deadlines.
- Ability to work across all functional areas of Human Resources.
- Strong interpersonal skills. Collaborates effectively with colleagues in HR and other functional areas, and with external vendors, to achieve goals.
- Advanced MS Office skills.
