The Contractor Consultants is a Non-Union General Engineering Contractor serving the Southern California region, specializing in grading, paving, concrete curb & gutter, and decorative pavers. Founded by Rudy Ruiz in 1999, the company partners with clients from start to finish, ensuring projects are completed on schedule with a small business, hands-on approach. In 2010, La Strada expanded into the pipeline industry, and in 2016, La Strada Pipeline was formed through a partnership with Chris Anselmo, bringing over 25 years of pipeline knowledge to the company. With a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, La Strada Contracting serves private developers and government needs with expertise in projects of any size.
- Onboarding: Onboarding of new hires.
- Employee Relations: Handle a high volume of incoming phone calls and emails from Associates regarding HR and Payroll topics, ensuring consistent follow-up on all issues and concerns.
- Policy Communication: Effectively communicate company policies, procedures, and guidelines to all Associates. Identify and address any violations swiftly and accurately.
- HR Reporting: Assist the HR team by creating and disseminating reports for various departments, providing valuable insights for decision-making.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support organizational initiatives and foster a cohesive team environment.
- Policy Management: Review, manage, and maintain all insurance policies and ensure they are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards and regulations.
- Claims Handling: Process and manage insurance claims, including documentation, follow-ups, and liaising with insurance companies to ensure timely resolution.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential insurance needs and gaps, recommending appropriate coverage to mitigate risks.
- Client Support: Provide excellent customer service by assisting clients with insurance-related inquiries, policy explanations, and claims processing.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all insurance transactions, claims, and communications.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant insurance regulations and standards, keeping abreast of changes in laws and industry practices.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including project managers and finance, to ensure comprehensive insurance coverage and support for all projects.
- Education & Training: Educate and train staff on insurance policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance company-wide understanding and compliance.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communication, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience as an HR Manager or in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of state and federal labor laws and regulations, with the ability to apply this knowledge effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Independence: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating good judgment in decision-making.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills, and strong human relations skills.
- Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solving abilities and outstanding organizational skills.
- Technical Skills: Strong computer proficiency; Excellent in MS Office applications.
- Bilingual: Preferably fluent in both English and another language.
