Summit HR Partners has been retained to conduct a search for a new HR Generalist for a client based around White Plains, NY.
The Human Resource Generalist will be a strong tactical partner to the business by ensuring compliance with all regulations and administering the daily functions of the HR department including payroll, benefits administration, assisting in talent acquisition activities, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and other HR policies and special project as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Implements and conducts new hire onboarding and orientation program.
- Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees, including leadership development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
- Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field
- At least five years Human Resource experience
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus
