About the Job
The Human Resource Generalist supports the day-to-day activities of the Human Resources department, handling tasks such as maintaining personnel records, updating databases, and assisting in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes.
Responsibilities:Onboarding: Works closely with all new hires assisting them through the pre-employment screening process. Which includes Criminal Background, Child Abuse Record Information, Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure, and Drug and QTF clearances.
Prepares employment contracts for all new employees. Maintains the organization's personnel files and records consisting of individual employee personnel files, leave records, medical records, benefit plan records, Establishes personnel records and documents whenever new employees are hired; files and retrieves materials; retires records of departed employees; and processes all personnel transaction forms.
Meets with al new employees to ensure all screenings are completed and all documentation has been collected.
Administrative
- Write and update Standard Operating Procedures for all administrative Human Resources processes.
- Compile HR reports including statistical summaries, charts, graphs and surveys
- Write Policies and Procedures
- Prepare HR Presentations for new staff and management
Recruitment: Maintains an understanding of the Recruitment Process, hiring procedures, all applicable laws, and Information Management System (ICIMS). Provides assistance where needed and back-up in the absence of the HR Generalist.
- Responsible for the recruitment, screening, and selection of candidates for support staff and lower-level professional/managerial positions ensuring compliance with all Human Resource and Equal Employment Opportunity guidelines. This involves determining with managers the selection criteria; identifying internal candidates; advising managers on the availability of internal and external candidates; selecting productive recruiting sources and methods; screening , scheduling and interviewing candidates; counseling managers on potential hires; and negotiating starting salaries approved by the Human Resources
- In conjunction with the recruitment and retention of employees, develops and provides an overview of benefits and the pre-employment screening processes during the offer to onboarding process for newly hired employees.
Education Requirement: A bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or a related field.
Experience:
- MS Office.
- ICIMS and resume databases.
