Isola, an industry leader in global materials sciences whose mission is to improve life by enabling innovation in electronic products, is hiring an Human Resources Generalist.
THE ROLE
The HR Generalist plays a pivotal, hands-on role in supporting and driving HR initiatives within the manufacturing facility. Acting as a trusted partner to the plant's leadership team, this role is integral in building strong, proactive relationships that foster employee engagement, alignment with operational goals, and a positive work environment. The HR Generalist ensures that people strategies are aligned with plant needs and that HR programs are executed effectively and in compliance with organizational policies.
Though not responsible for recruitment, the HR Generalist works closely with the Talent Acquisition team to meet staffing requirements, maintaining a deep understanding of on-floor operational demands. The HR Generalist will embody Isola's High-Performance Culture by promoting employee development, continuous improvement, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
HR Consulting & Employee Relations
- Build strong relationships with managers and employees to proactively address issues before they escalate, fostering an environment of open communication and trust.
- Provide day-to-day HR guidance, coaching leaders on employee development, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
- Act as a resource for managers on succession planning and employee engagement strategies.
- Partner with leaders to resolve conflicts, focusing on coaching and empowering managers to solve issues within their teams.
Talent Development & Performance Management
- Collaborate with global and regional HR teams to assess learning and development needs, supporting the planning and execution of targeted training programs.
- Facilitate and support the performance management process, ensuring timely and effective completion of performance appraisals and development plans.
- Coach employees and supervisors to continuously improve individual and team performance.
- Analyze HR metrics to drive improvements in the talent management strategy and provide insights to leadership.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Lead and implement employee engagement initiatives, ensuring they align with corporate and local objectives.
- Facilitate a positive workplace culture by supporting recognition programs, employee events, and community involvement activities.
- Act as a mediator during employee relations issues, partnering with leadership to resolve conflicts fairly and consistently while adhering to company policies and labor law compliance.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee the accurate and timely maintenance of HR records, including employment, attendance, and personnel files, ensuring compliance with local labor laws.
- Ensure effective communication of HR policies, programs, and initiatives across the plant, providing clarity and support to both leaders and employees.
- Support and administer employee benefits programs, collaborating with HR support staff to efficiently handle inquiries and process changes.
Talent Acquisition Support
- Serve as the liaison between the Plant Leadership Team and Talent Acquisition, ensuring clear communication of staffing needs and operational demands.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of production staffing requirements, regularly communicating workforce needs to the Talent Acquisition team.
- Provide input on hiring strategies based on labor market trends and the facility's operational goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience in manufacturing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HR fundamentals, including employee relations, talent management, and compliance with labor laws.
- Experience supporting and driving employee engagement and continuous improvement in production or manufacturing.
- Strong conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to evolving site needs.
- Proven ability to build strong partnerships with plant leadership and operations teams to align HR initiatives with business objectives.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional language skills (Spanish) are an asset.
