About the Role
As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a key role in supporting our HR department by handling various technical and administrative tasks. Key Responsibilities
•Facilitate the hiring process, ensuring the recruitment of qualified candidates.
•Conduct new hire orientations and manage employee system access.
•Perform employee maintenance in payroll systems, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
•Administer benefits programs, including open enrollment, COBRA compliance, and retirement updates.
•Manage leave processes, including FMLA, STD, and LTD.
•Develop and deliver employee training programs and support performance improvement initiatives.
•Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
•Handle sensitive HR matters with professionalism and discretion.
•Support employee engagement through relationship-building and morale-boosting initiatives.
What You'll Need
Education & Experience:
•Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
•3+ years of HR experience in a similar or progressively responsible role.
•Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
Certifications:
•SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR) is required. If certification is not already held, it must be obtained within one year of hire.
Preferred Experience:
•Background in local government HR is a plus!

•Proficiency in HR laws and regulations.
•Strong communication and organizational skills.
•Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•Ability to manage confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
•Familiarity with HRIS and talent management systems.
