As an HR Business Partner, you will collaborate with business leadership to develop and implement HR policies and practices that will support the strategic growth of the business, while contributing to a culture of engagement and excellence. You will work with a team of passionate and driven individuals who are making a difference for our modern-day war fighters, law enforcement, and EMS.
This position will reside in our Portsmouth Headquarters and requires limited travel to our Marlborough, MA facility.
What you will do:
- Strategic HR Leadership: Partner with leadership to develop and implement effective HR policies and practices that align with and support the company's growth objectives.
- Thought Leadership: Offer insights and guidance on organizational and people-related strategies to ensure successful execution and alignment with business goals.
- Education & Communication: Provide timely information, education, and support to all levels of the company on HR-related issues, ensuring a clear understanding of policies and best practices.
- Performance & Development Coaching: Educate, coach, and partner with managers on performance management, employee development, and goal-setting to enhance individual and team effectiveness.
- HR Expertise: Provide HR guidance on key areas, including feedback processes, employee relations, development and coaching, compensation, and organizational development.
- HR Program Development: Participate in the continual improvement of HR programs such as recruiting, retention, compensation, benefits, and Learning & Development (L&D).
- Culture Building: Collaborate with the HR team to champion and accelerate a culture of excellence, ensuring employees feel engaged and inspired to achieve top business results.
- Organizational Effectiveness: Design strategies and approaches for diagnosing and enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.
- Compensation & Performance: Educate employees on compensation practices, including performance feedback, performance calibration, career transitions, and compensation alignment.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Requirements
Basic:
- Bachelor's degree in a Human Resources or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an HR Business Partner role.
- Proven experience as an HR contributor in a mid sized company, aligned to the specific HR Business Partner role and client group. Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly valued.
- Demonstrated experience across various HR functions, particularly in process improvement, change management and employee relations.
- In-depth knowledge of HR programs and practices, including applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations.
Preferred:
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a track record of developing innovative solutions to business challenges.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High level of credibility and integrity, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to listen to and understand both employee and business needs, ensuring alignment in solutions.
- Adaptability in communication style based on the audience.
- Strong commitment to maintaining compliance standards and upholding company values.
- Ability to manage multiple, complex issues and prioritize projects efficiently.

- Change management expertise, with a proven ability to coach and influence others to achieve business results.
- Ability to leverage knowledge of business strategy to align HR solutions with organizational goals.
- Ability to make decisions that consider global context and encourage collaboration across organizational and geographical boundaries.
