What We're Looking For:
Crystal Stair is seeking a Benefits Specialist who under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Benefits Specialist will oversee all aspects of benefits enrollment and benefits information dissemination. This position sets up and maintains benefits information in the HRIS and support the HRIS processes to ensure timely reporting and accuracy of data. The ideal candidate will also have the following responsibilities:
- Oversee benefit enrollment, including following up with employees, collecting paperwork, and processing enrollment forms to meet deadlines.
- Lead benefits section of New Hire Orientation
- Reconcile monthly medical and dental billing to meet monthly deadline.
- Disseminate benefits information and answer benefits questions completely and accurately.
- Trouble shoot benefit problems or complaints; proactively investigate problems or errors, document circumstances and see through to appropriate
- Coordinate annual Open Enrollment meeting for all staff.
- Track COBRA coverage, send all necessary paperwork, including COBRA
- Notification letters and Qualifying Event forms.
- Develop and maintain an HR benefit and profile database with ultimate outcome of invisible paycheck information.
- Input and maintain benefits information in the HRIS, and generate reports and queries.
- Investigate other benefit options as needed.
- Update and maintain personnel documents/forms.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES YOU SHOULD POSSESS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource or related field. Relevant work experience may be substituted for college level education.
- Minimum 2 years experience processing benefits paperwork, in a human resources environment.
- Strong knowledge of benefits administration, as well as employment and labor laws. Strong computer skills, including MS Office and database skills. HRIS experience required.
- Requires the exercise of independent judgment and discretion in analyzing situations and in the determination of actions to be taken. Requires high degree of confidentiality and discretion. Must exercise sound judgment in determining which matters require immediate attention.
