Job Title: Benefits Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Benefits Specialist who will manage 401k enrollments, reports, and audits. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of employee benefit plans and will work with vendors to identify the best value options. You will serve as the primary contact for plan vendors, third-party administrators, and brokers, ensuring compliance with government regulations and the accuracy of required reporting and fees.
Responsibilities
+ Manage 401k enrollments, reports, and audits.
+ Research employee benefit plans and vendors to identify the best value.
+ Negotiate with brokers to secure the best plans, options, and rates.
+ Serve as the primary contact for plan vendors, third-party administrators, and brokers.
+ Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations.
+ Coordinate daily benefit processing, including enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, distributions, 401k hardships, and compliance testing.
+ Manage the 401k audit report process due to the IRS.
+ Handle benefits questions, LOA, COBRA, and leave policies.
+ Prepare weekly 401k enrollment reports for new additions.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency with computer systems and technical aptitude.
+ Experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
+ Ability to understand, evaluate, and make judgments on proposals (RFPs).
+ Knowledge of benefits contract language.
+ Knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting employee benefits programs, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Medicare, and Social Security.
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR role exclusively working with benefits.
+ Experience in compiling 401k audits and reports.
+ Thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations governing benefits plans (FMLA/LOA).
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
+ Engagement with TPAs and auditing firms.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00
