About the Job
The City of Topeka's Human Resources department is seeking an organized, detail-oriented individual to fulfill an administrative support role within the department.
This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and will assist with scheduling, communication, and other assigned tasks. The successful incumbent must be reliable and display sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
What you’ll do:
- Coordinate and schedule meetings for the Director of Human Resources.
- Provide backup to the front desk by providing coverage, customer service, and opening and closing the Human Resources office on a daily basis as needed.
- Draft, review and send communication to include phone calls, e-mails and memos.
- Assist with the creation, tracking, and filing of department reports, expenses and documents.
The ideal candidate:
- Is highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Is proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially scheduling and calendar management in Microsoft Outlook.
- Can work comfortably in a fast-paced, team environment with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Has a sense of discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in an administrative support role.

Entry rate of pay: $20.97 - $25.17 per hour, DOQ
