The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and provide services to support effective and efficient operations of the Company's human resources department. The position will provide research, administrative and technical assistance in the areas of benefits, payroll, compliance, employee relations, communication, labor relations, recruitment, on-boarding, training, and workforce management.

Essential job duties for this position include the following items. Other duties must be performed as assigned or required.
- Ensure the human resources day-to-day operations are running smoothly
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers complex questions to appropriate manager
- Assist with recruitment process including posting jobs, scheduling interviews, setting up testing, etc
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records
- Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately
- Provides clerical support to the HR Department
- May assist in setting up training and development as requested
- Welcomes new employees to the Company by conducting onboarding and orientation
- May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, and fixing time errors
- Answers basic questions about employee benefits and insurance providers
- Conducts or assists with new hire orientation
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations
- Maintains knowledge of changes in employment law (Federal and State/Local)
- Maintain compliance related documentation and postings
- Act as a back-up to process payroll when necessary
- Other projects and duties may be assigned

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.
Education/Experience:
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred, plus a minimum of two (2) years' of related HR or administrative support experience; OR an equivalent amount of education and experience
- A PHR certification preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, diplomacy, and professionalism
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic problem-solving skills
- Exhibit extraordinary discretion, flexibility, and willingness to work closely with co-workers and the leadership team
- Basic knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficient in using Apple products / MacOS
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems
