JOB PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of HR activities that support the College's goals. This role supports employees and management with a variety of services primarily activities necessary to process payroll. Provide administrative support to the Human Resource Generalist.
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Processes employee payroll information (timesheets, deduction authorizations, etc.), prints or transmits paychecks, ensuring accurate and timely payment made to employees for each payroll period.
- Responds timely to e-mails, telephone calls, letters, etc. regarding HR/Payroll communications, inquires, researches records and providing resolve. Work closely with the Payroll Coordinator to complete compensation increases and one-time payments.
- Assist the HR generalist with communicating the talent acquisition process for all supervisors, internal candidates, and external candidates, including ad posting, interviews offer and onboarding.
- Welcomes new hires to the organization by assisting the HR generalist with completing required documentation (I9's, health benefits, etc.).
- Resolves employee questions related to benefits plans and data in a timely manner and consults with vendor partners as needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Requires education generally equivalent to a related Bachelor's Degree, from the disciplines of Business, Accounting, or Human Resources.
- Requires a minimum of three years of similar professional Human Resources and Payroll experience.
- Ability to work with Workday and/or similar payroll software. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with employees, faculty members, leadership team, vendors, and candidates.
- Requires strong customer service skills to effectively process information and respond to concerns with a sense of urgency. Proven skills in the areas of team building, time management, problem solving, conflict management, and employee relations.
- Ability to work with confidential information. Requires knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of standard office equipment such as a telephone, printer, scanner, and computer keyboard. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
