Job Summary: The Housekeeping Director is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping operations within a skilled nursing facility. This role ensures that the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The Housekeeping Director manages the housekeeping staff, develops cleaning schedules, and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the daily operations of the housekeeping department.
Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
Supervise, train, and evaluate housekeeping staff.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
Manage inventory and order cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
Address and resolve any housekeeping-related issues or complaints.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure a coordinated approach to facility maintenance.
Prepare and manage the housekeeping department budget.
Maintain accurate records of housekeeping activities and staff performance.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in hospitality management or a related field is a plus.
Previous experience in a housekeeping management role, preferably in a healthcare or skilled nursing facility.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Ability to manage and motivate a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and housekeeping management software.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
