Rate of Pay: $21.00/Hour
Shift: Variable Shifts Monday – Sunday
FTYR Benefited Position - 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (4-5 shifts/week)
Weekends & Holidays required
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly
SUMMARY
Inspect and stage lodging units to ensure a positive sense of arrival for lodging guests. Reinforce cleanliness standards through training. Document inspection for piece rate tracking. Assist Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Housekeeping Manager with all services needed to maintain cottages, mountain homes, walkways, housekeeping closets and public areas according to resort standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Check in and out keys, radios, and phones/tablets, and vehicles from the safety office, following guidelines.
- Directly supervise 10-15 employees, in assigned section/s.
- Ensure cleanliness of rooms/areas in assigned sections as well as all amenities are stocked; ie: clean robes, hygiene amenities, and magazines.
- Direct housepersons in maintaining cleanliness in assigned areas. Ensure garbage and linen are picked up as needed.
- Ensure staff follows Sundance Housekeeping standards for cleanliness and safety.
- Communicate problems and requests in need of attention to other departments in a timely manner.
- Safely transport housekeepers to assigned areas according to housekeeping standards.
- Ensure each employee is wearing a neat and complete uniform in compliance with the Sundance and Housekeeping appearance policies.
- Ensure items checked out have been returned to safety.
- Complete Room Inspection checklist for every turnover/arrival unit each day. As well as stayover services upon request by the Housekeeping Management Team. Update room statuses via phone or tablet
- Assist other assigned areas to ensure that all units are cleaned prior to 4:00 pm check in. Ensure all housekeepers/housepersons go home at the same time unless otherwise approved by the Housekeeping Management Team.
- Must be knowledgeable of all Housekeeper duties and willing to assist with cleaning rooms if assigned by the Housekeeping Management Team.
- Coach employees on prioritizing duties and completing duties to the Sundance standard. Provide feedback on performance - praising employees, addressing complaints, resolving problems.
- Promote a positive work environment by showing employee appreciation, administering constructive criticism in a professional and sensitive manner.
- Encourage and motivate employees, maintain a positive attitude despite adversity to promote strong morale.
- Use critical thinking to resolve problems.
- Report performance or insubordination issues to Management for resolution and/or discipline.
- Communicate any unfinished work or challenges with to prevent unresolved problems.
- Attend bi-weekly progress meetings with Management as scheduled to assess performance trends.
- Work weekly schedule as approved by Management based on business demands.
- Complete all other duties or projects as assigned by the Housekeeping Management Team.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Complete all applicable paperwork for the above responsibilities and submit to HR in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Housekeeping experience preferred.
- Must possess working knowledge of internet navigation and electronic mail. Knowledge of Optii / SnT helpful. Operate radio for communication with staff.
- Must possess a valid U.S. Drivers' License in good standing in accordance to Sundance's Insurance Company guidelines.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee must be able to work outside in extreme weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
