Purpose of Your Job Position
The primary purpose of your job position is to perform the day-to-day cleaning activities of the Environmental Services Department in accordance with current federal, state and location standards, guidelines, and regulations governing this facility. To assure that this facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner. The housekeeper will at times, be required to handle materials identified as infectious.
As a Housekeeper, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
- Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
- Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
- Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
- Keep work/assignment areas free of hazardous objects, unnecessary equipment, supplies, etc.
- Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used in the work area. Refer to material safety data sheets (MSDSs) when necessary
- Ensure that established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing laundry procedures.
Requirements
Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
Weekend Pay Incentive- $2.00 more/hour
Pick up shift incentive- $5.00 more/hour
