The Role
As DEV age (7-10 years old) Head Coach, you'll deploy our soccer curriculum to enhance soccer fundamentals, teach rules and advanced tactics, and promote sportsmanship and ethical behavior according to US Soccer Federation and United Soccer Coaches standards. You'll ensure a safe, positive environment, manage player and parent behavior, adhere to safety protocols, and handle team administrative tasks. Your role includes attending meetings, events, training, games, and providing feedback to players and parents.
Expect 2 training sessions weekly, participation in local/regional tournaments, and Washington Premier League matches. Team tryouts are held semi-annually in December and May.
Reporting to the Coach Development Lead, you'll collaborate with staff to maintain our standards of development and sportsmanship. With teams across ages 8U to 18U and over 400 players, HPFC commits to a high-quality soccer experience.
Required Qualifications
- Premier-level soccer experience as a player: 5 years
- Coaching soccer: 2 years
- Working with kids ages 7-10 years old: 2 years
- USSF D License
Job Responsibilities Include
- Coach, teach, lead, and prepare young athletes for success in soccer
- Manage teams of at least ten players
- Uphold club mission and values and professionally represent the club
- Proficient use of e-mail, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Communicate verbally and in written form
Compensation
- $600 - $1,600/month per team, depending on qualifications and experience

Work Environment
This position requires working in an indoor and outdoor environment on a soccer field, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, and wind. Candidates should be prepared to work in these conditions and take appropriate precautions to ensure their health and safety.
Must be available to work on weeknight evenings (beginning as early as 5pm) and weekends.
Employees must live in the greater Seattle area and have reliable means of transportation.
Employees must be able to occasionally lift 35+ pounds and be comfortable standing on their feet for multiple hours at a time.
