Job Description
- Provides Secretarial services for building Principal and Assistant Principal, including typing, filing, and recording meeting minutes.
- Serve as a receptionist and maintain all office records.
- Maintain all student records and files.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and translate Spanish
- Responsible for all building correspondence, including daily bulletin, letters from the office, and building reports.
- Maintain records and perform duties related to ordering, receiving, invoicing, and inventory.
- Assist with minor health-related problems.
- Maintain appropriate office decorum (bulletin boards).
- Demonstrates grammatical accuracy.
- Register new students and maintain records as student registrar, answering parent and student questions, and checking all paperwork & inputting information.
- Assist with cash reconciliation tasks as needed.
- Serve as attendance secretary, including managing truancy records and reports.
- Counseling Office duties:
- Provide secretarial services for the counseling office.
- Input schedule changes, update transcripts, input partial credit, make corrections to student records in the computer system.
- Maintain records such as current transcripts, test scores, permanent files and send files for students enrolling elsewhere.
- Obtain records and files for transferring students from other districts.
- Send transcripts and test scores for college applicants and for scholarships and assists in providing credit evaluation information to staff for advising students.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be personable, dependable, trustworthy, have the ability to deal with people, have office equipment skills, deal with stress, good sense of humor, good time management, and have good initiative.
- Must pass a skill review in math, English, Spanish, and computer management, of which some are practical and written.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively with patrons or employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Starting Date: 2024-25 School Year
Salary: $24.17-$29.64- Based on experience and education. 23-24 Secretaries Salary Schedule
Hours: 8.0 hrs/day - 7:45 am - 4:15 pm, 211 days per year
