About the Job
The Hematology/Oncology Clinical Pharmacist ensures optimal clinical outcomes by providing integrated pharmaceutical services through informational and clinical services as well as drug distribution with a strong focus on hematology/oncology. Primary roles include: verifying appropriate oncology treatment plan selection/ dose/route/frequency; medication reconciliation; order verification; medication preparation and medication final check; treatment plan validation; patient and caregiver education; provider and nursing education; The Hematology/Oncology Clinical Pharmacist will support the hematology/oncology services in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
In addition, the Hematology/Oncology Clinical Pharmacist Specialist will exemplify the Rush mission, vision, and values and act in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Qualifications (Hematology/Oncology):
- Registered pharmacist in Illinois (or eligibility to be licensed in Illinois)
- PharmD degree (preferred)
- Minimum CriteriaCompleted a Pharmacy Practice (PGY1) Residency plus have 2 years of hematology/oncology experience as a clinical pharmacist
OR
- 3-5 years of hematology/oncology as a clinical pharmacist
- Preferred Criteria - Completed a Specialty (PGY2) Residency in Hematology/Oncology
- BLS certification
- Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties Board Certification in Oncology (BCOP) prior to or within 18 months of employee start date.
