The Heavy Line GM Certified Technician must be proficient in diagnosing and inspecting repairs in all areas for various make and model vehicles, including specialized components.
Role Responsibilities:
- Examines, diagnoses, and discusses the malfunction of the vehicle with the Shop Foreman/Service Advisor for communication to the customers. The Heavy Line Technician provides labor time and parts estimates to the Service Advisor.
- Replaces transmissions and fuel components. The Heavy Line Technician repairs systems including engine, steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, and warranty work to required specifications promptly.
- Road test vehicles to confirm problem have been resolved and operations will meet customer, manufacturer, and company standards.
- Plans work procedures in cooperation with the Shop Foreman. The Heavy Line Technician completes story or documentation for customer repairs.
- Conducts routine maintenance work aiming for vehicle longevity and functionality. The Main Line Technician maintains a strict adherence to dealership policies on customer vehicle care and operations.
- Attends factory-sponsored seminars to stay informed about the latest automotive technology and industry trends.
Employee Prerequisites:
- Automotive Technician's knowledge/experience and tools are REQUIRED. Pay is based on experience.
- Must be a GM Certified Technician
- Ability to understand and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating, maintenance, and procedure manuals.
- Flexible schedule
- Safety equipment when in designated work area. Maintain a clean and tidy workspace in accordance with company regulations.
