BUSINESS UNIT: TERMINALS Kinder Morgan is the largest independent terminal operator in North America, providing a strong, reliable network of 144 terminals serving our customers’ storage, distribution, blending and logistical needs. Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products. We have a combined liquids storage capacity of approximately 151 million barrels and handle about 59 million tons of dry bulk materials annually. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: - Operate D-10 Dozer equipped with concave blade attached across front to gouge out, level, and distribute petroleum from storage to re-claimer, from processing units/pit to storage in a safe and efficient manner.
- Operate bulldozer in successive passes over terrain to raise or lower terrain to specified grade.
- Operate Front End Loader, Bobcat, Manlift, and Track Hoe and Forklift.
- Maintain all mobile and stationary equipment by performing preventive maintenance, i.e.: lubricating, cleaning, greasing, adding gear lubricants and other minor maintenance and repairs; documents all activity performed.
- Train on overhead crane inside Shell Refinery by engaging levers and brakes to load product from pit to the hoppers.
- Train on remote controlled ship loader by engaging push buttons on the remote to distribute coke according to stowage plan and ships chief mate instructions, insure satisfactory loading of the vessel and watch for safety of the ship loader during operation.
- Assist coworkers and maintenance crew on various jobs.
- Participate in and promote safety and environmental programs.
- Perform all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Moves or pushes buttons to start or stop the conveyor.
- Train on rail operation to include car dumping, switching, and locomotive operations.
- Understand inspection reports and procedures.
Minimum Requirements include: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: - High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is required.
- A minimum of eight months to one year experience in Heavy equipment especially D9 dozers, track hoes, etc.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Must be able to effectively communicate verbally.
- Must be willing to work day or night shift schedule as assigned and overtime with little to no notice during the week, weekends, holiday, etc. as needed for operational needs.
- In order to appropriately perform the essential duties of this job, regular work attendance is required.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC: - Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers and must be willing to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment.
- Must pass and complete Safety training/certification as required by customers to work in their facilities and as required by Kinder Morgan at all locations.
- Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones such as background checks by the Department of Homeland Security, i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC).
- Must be able to complete/pass DISA testing for entrance into facility.
- Must be able to pass respiratory fit testing.
