Role: Head of Marketing and Communications
Location: San Diego, CA (in-office)
Salary: $90,000-$110,000 / yr + stock options, 401k matching, and other benefits.
Role Overview: Seasats has developed sophisticated, dependable products and proven them with customers around the world. We're now looking for an all-star marketer to make Seasats the #1 option in our target customers' minds.
About You:
You're a motivated and creative marketer, someone who is good at boiling complex information down into easily digestible bites. You can create aesthetically pleasing presentations, banners, and other marketing materials, and you can also write a clear memo and stick to a schedule. You're probably not an engineer, but you're comfortable working with numbers and you don't try to sell things that break the laws of physics. In addition, you likely have:
- Deep experience in marketing, communications management, media, or visual communications
- Excellent communication, presentation, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with modern marketing technologies and tactics (including graphic design, social media management, advertising, etc.)
- Experience marketing to enterprise or government customers
- Proven history of collaborating and coordinating across multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to function well and hit deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Enough flexibility to juggle multiple projects and priorities, and enough self-awareness to understand and communicate your capacity
- Curiosity, work ethic, and humor
Bonus points if you have:
- Familiarity with the maritime sector
- Experience with WordPress, video editors, photography, and/or CAD tools
- Experience working in the technology sector
- Experience attending trade shows and conferences
- A degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
- Experience working with outside agencies
Role Details
As Seasats' Marketing and Communications Manager, you'll lead the company's branding, product marketing, communications, and social media efforts. You'll work with our business development and technical teams to capture products and specifications in appealing and shareable media, and you'll make sure that media gets shared in front of the right audiences. You will prepare for and attend events in the U.S. and occasionally internationally, speaking with customers and bringing your insights back to the team at home.
Day-to-day, some specific tasks might include:
- Defining, implementing, and reinforcing Seasats' strategic brand identity across channels.
- Leading coordinated marketing campaigns across the company's verticals
- Scheduling, preparing for, and attending exhibits, conferences, demos, and briefings with the business development team
- Supporting bid and proposal development
- Developing digital and print communications and maintaining relationships with relevant vendors
- Procuring and maintaining physical marketing assets including models, giveaway items, banners, and booth materials
- Conducting marketing analyses to understand Seasats' customer base and build effective campaigns
- Providing support to thought leadership campaigns to reinforce a consistent image in front of media, government, and industry partner audiences
