Data is embedded in our culture and is how we compete and win. Data Management and Enablement is one of the critical pillars within the newly established Chief Data Office (CDO), part of T. Rowe Price’s Chief Operating Office (COO). The pillar is responsible market data services and establishing an enterprise data governance target operating model focusing on ownership, quality, and knowledge to aid growth and performance. The Role The Head of Data Management reports to the Head of Enterprise Data Management and Enablement and is responsible for Enterprise Issues Management, Market Data Services, and Data Quality Operations for Foundational CDO Data Products. The role has both transformational and BAU responsibilities supporting the CDO, COO, and T. Rowe Price’s internal and external stakeholders. Impact The role is pivotal in driving the development of the issues management landscape supporting CDO and federated data quality operations, enhancing data operations, and supporting orderly acquisition of new market data feeds, advocating for premiere pricing for market data renewals, and applying an agile product mindset to these processes. The Head of Data Management has the opportunity to execute the strategic vision set by the Chief Data Officer, and Head of Enterprise Data Management aligning them with key business objectives, and prioritizing features and data remediation. Key Accountabilities Execute and communicate a clear of the Enterprise Data Strategy. Create and maintain a market data roadmap that prioritizes renewals and cost optimization and reusability Drive the ongoing setup of data quality rules for new metadata sets Collaborate with stakeholders from various business and technology areas to operationalize the data issues management landscape focusing on issues triaging, logging, ownership, and remediation Oversee market data collection, ingestion, and transformation processes to ensure high-quality, reliable, and accessible data Represent CDO and COO with Regulatory Agencies as assigned Monitor objective and key results (OKRs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact of the data product and making data-driven decisions for improvements. Facilitate user training and support to ensure that stakeholders can effectively launch federated data operations aligning with CDO data management policies and standards integrated with central issues management Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience 15+ years of total relevant work experience ideally in a data operations / product / project leadership role with demonstrated experience of managing data quality, issues, and market data operations An understanding of market data and data governance principles, frameworks and methodologies, and experience applying them in the real world all stages of the data lifecycle Execution excellence and a track record of delivering long term business value Strong risk management awareness and understanding A sound understanding of financial markets Ability to think and plan strategically, working in ambiguous environments Strong analytical skills and the ability to aggregate and simplify complex, disparate information. Experience navigating complex, global organizations. Strong written and oral communications skills Entrepreneurial and innovation mindset Highest level of integrity and the ability to foster trust and loyalty Preferred: In-depth understanding of asset management industry Experience leading and working in Agile environments, ideally at scale but with the ability to flex as needed e.g., waterfall. Some experience, but not necessarily all the following: Market data Cost optimization Data product management Data Governance, Data Management, and Analytics Global Investment Operations Regulatory Compliance Data valuation and working with data as an asset Metadata, reference data and master data management Data quality rules implementation and maintenance Data issues management FINRA Requirements FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role. Work Flexibility This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to two days per week from home. Base salary ranges: $212,500.00 - $350,000.00 for the location of: California, New York $187,000.00 - $319,500.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C $170,500.00 - $291,000.00 for the location of: Colorado, Maryland, Washington and all other US locations Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
