Position Overview:
Maü Miami is seeking an innovative and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and elevate our culinary offerings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Mediterranean cuisine, a creative flair, and a strong leadership presence. As the Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, from menu creation and food preparation to staff management and inventory control, ensuring that every dish served meets our high standards of quality and presentation.
Key Job duties
- Develop and design a diverse and creative menu that reflects Maü Miami's Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of cleanliness and organization.
- Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Manage food costs, inventory, and procurement, ensuring the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients.
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Collaborate with the management team to plan and execute special events, seasonal menus, and promotions.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and ensure proper maintenance and repairs.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve any issues related to food quality or service.
- Stay current with industry trends, new cooking techniques, and ingredient innovations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-end restaurant.
- Expertise in Mediterranean cuisine and a passion for culinary creativity.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in food cost management and inventory control.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required.
