HVAC Technician

Highly motivated and organized individual responsible for providing HVAC support to our customers in the US including hands-on troubleshooting and testing of electric motors as our HVAC Technician.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site (50% travel) and remote engineering design and technical support to assigned customer base.
- Able to travel to visit assigned customers on a regular and occasional short notice basis.
- If not traveling, will report daily to our location in Waller, TX.
- Establish professional working relationships with key customer personnel in Quality Control, Engineering and Purchasing departments.
- Resolve product, manufacturing, and quality issues for assigned customers.
- Clearly communicate all technical information to North American and China based colleagues.
- Review technical documents such as lab test reports, prints, engineering specifications, PPAP/PAPSO files and make improvements if necessary.
- Host project review meetings with colleagues and customers. Then follow up with action items until their closure.
- Test, analyze, identify issues, generate reports, and repair electric motor product failures.
Requirements:
- An Associate's degree in EE, ME, HVAC, Engineering Technology or a similar field.
- Five-years of experience in engineering field, preferably in direct customer support, motor manufacturing and applications, or HVAC application area.
- May consider applicants with an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Self-starter, well-organized, attention to detail, and able to work independently in a rapid paced environment.
- Able to relate to all levels of both customer production facilities and 3PL warehouse organizations.
- Motor manufacturing and applications, and HVAC application experiences are big pluses.
- Experience with test instrumentation and test & measurement equipment is a plus.
- Able to use mechanical test equipment and hand tools.
- Good computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and general PC operations.
- Willing and able to perform physical work, i.e., lifting, bending, handling and testing motors up to 20 lbs., walking through plants and warehouses, etc.
- Flexible schedule to allow after business hour work.
- Good driving record and credit.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work effectively with different cultures.
- Experience with electronic design, circuit board design and circuit board manufacturing are a plus.
- Prior experience involving complex test issues & systems; Ability to troubleshoot and find root cause independently.
Preferred
- A Bachelor's degree in EE, ME, Engineering Technology or a similar field.
- Experience with test instrumentation and test & measurement equipment.
- Experience with electronic design, circuit board design and circuit board manufacturing.
Additional Details:
Provide on-site (50% travel) and remote engineering design and technical support to assigned customer base.
This position works under pressure of deadlines with interruptions occurring regularly.
Travel is required, by car or air, to visit customer locations.
