Job Title: HR Generalist
Location: This position is onsite in Irvine, CA.
Employment Type: Full-time
Pay Range: $70,000-85,000 per year based on experience, qualifications, and skillset.
Position Overview:
As a HR Generalist, you will play a crucial role in supporting a wide range of HR functions and initiatives, ensuring compliance with employment laws while championing our company's values. As a key contributor to our HR department, you'll manage vital HR data, support impactful initiatives, and help create a positive, thriving work environment. Key Responsibilities:
The HR Generalist must be able to perform the following tasks:
- Maintain and update employee files, including personal details, employment history, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure all records are accurate and complete, adhering to company policies and legal requirements.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit regular HR reports and audits as required.
- Input and manage employee data in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and other databases.
- Conduct periodic data audits to ensure data integrity.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance on HR policies and practices to employees and management.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes, including the preparation and processing of relevant documentation.
- Ensure a smooth transition for new hires and departing employees.
- Initiate background checks for all newly hired employees.
- Conduct exit interviews for all voluntary resignations.
- Prepare new hire and termination packets following hiring and termination checklists.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all employee records and sensitive information.
- Manage record retention schedules and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Provide general HR support as needed, including answering employee inquiries and assisting with HR projects.
- Prepare disciplinary write ups by working closely with the HR Manager and VPHR.
- Perform other HR-related tasks and special projects as assigned by the VP of HR.
Required Qualifications:
The HR Generalist must have the following experiences:
- 3+ years of experience working in the human resources field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
- Organizational and conflict management skills.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Interpersonal and intrapersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply HR policies and legal regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Excellent record-keeping skills.
- Knowledge of HR functions and best practices.
- Works comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
- Experience using an HRIS.
- Ability to multitask in a very fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
- HRCI or SHRM certifications.
