About the Job
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist with expertise in learning and development, employee relations, and a strong understanding of government contracting. This hybrid role requires local availability for in-person responsibilities in the DC Metro area. As an HR Generalist, you will manage core HR functions including FMLA, onboarding, and recruiting support, while developing and tailoring training programs to support various teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive learning and development initiatives by designing and delivering customized training programs that align with operational goals.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations, managing complex issues with professionalism and providing guidance to support a positive work environment.
- Handle day-to-day HR responsibilities including FMLA administration, onboarding of new hires, and supporting recruitment efforts.
- Lead and implement small process improvement initiatives to enhance HR operations and the overall employee experience.
- Collaborate with team members to foster an inclusive, productive work environment, supporting various organizational needs.
- Demonstrate understanding and application of government contracting requirements and ensure HR processes align with relevant industry standards.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role with a demonstrated focus on learning and development and employee relations.
- Strong understanding of government contracting processes and related HR requirements.
- Proven expertise in managing FMLA, onboarding, employee relations, and recruiting support functions.
- With ability to design and adapt programs and processes to meet diverse team needs across the organization
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a high level of professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to process improvement.
Work Environment
- The candidate must be located in or willing to commute to the DC Metro area for in-person duties as needed.
