The Human Resources Department supports the Foundation’s mission by providing quality customer service and guidance in the areas of recruitment and onboarding, compensation and benefits administration, training, and employee relations. Responsibilities:YOUR ROLE IN CREATING THE UNIVERSITY’S PRESENT AND FUTURE
As the SDSU Research Foundation HR Business Partner you will partner with various stakeholders throughout the organization to build strong relationships and provide support, guidance, and best practices that offer applicable solutions to management and employees. You will contribute to various research projects and Principal Investigators (PI) by providing recruitment and hiring support, guidance with classification and compensation, and advice on performance management and employee relations that will continue to enhance and support the vision of the SDSU Research Foundation.
THE WORK YOU WILL DO AND MANAGE
The HRBP serves as a single point of contact for assigned functional areas on all Human Resources related topics. Working with the hiring manager, the HRBP facilitates the full HR life cycle, which includes attracting and recruiting employees, their development, engagement, retention, and release. This position is responsible for ensuring the company complies with employment and labor laws, interpreting HR policies, analyzing classification and compensation requests, and resolving moderately complex employee relations issues.
Qualifications:
THE SKILLS WE NEED
Knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines including employee relations, recruiting, performance management, compensation, benefits, and federal and state employment laws.
Experience with high volume recruiting to include reviewing and writing job descriptions, interview questions, determining minimum qualifications, screening applicants, and ensuring required steps are followed.
Experience with providing coaching and guidance on general employee relations issues.
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to understand, interpret, and communicate procedures, policies, information, and instructions are essential for the HRBP.
The HRBP will also need strong planning and organizing skills with the ability to develop solutions to common challenges and the methods used for problem resolution in the department.
Knowledge of HRIS systems for employee data, reporting, and applicant tracking and the ability to learn new electronic systems and applications to perform research or analysis to solve problems.
A team player with strong interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration and positive relationships to work effectively with all levels of leadership, employees, and peers throughout the Foundation.
The ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and use independent judgement and initiative to address problems and develop solutions.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources and/or equivalent professional work experience in Human Resources
- Four-years of professional Human Resources work in a generalist capacity.
- Previous experience using software including Microsoft Office, Ellucian Banner, ETrieve, (or other related electronic systems)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading full-cycle recruitment.
- Experience using iCIMS applicant tracking systems.
- Experience performing compensation analysis and/or classification studies.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
- Experience in non-profit or higher education.
