Location: Danville, IL (In Office)
Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
Salary: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Please note: This is a fully in-office position. As a critical member of our HR team, your role will require your presence on-site daily to maintain a hands-on approach to daily tasks and team collaboration.

What You’ll Do
As an HR Assistant, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring smooth operations for the Human Resources team. This is a fast-paced position that requires a proactive approach, adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks effectively. Here’s how you’ll make an impact:
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll preparation, timecard audits, and other payroll-related tasks to ensure accurate and timely processing.
- Employee Recognition: Organize service award programs, anniversary certificates, and retirement receptions, supporting employee engagement initiatives.
- Exit Coordination: Prepare exit packets for departing employees, ensuring a seamless transition.
- Administrative Tasks: Order supplies, track the return of company equipment, and assist with other general administrative responsibilities.
- Data Management: Use Microsoft Excel to maintain and update records, prepare reports, and manage tracking systems.
- Employee Support: Respond to inquiries, provide assistance to HR professionals on projects, and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Self-Starter Mentality: Take initiative to identify areas where you can step in and assist, streamline processes, and ensure tasks are completed without constant supervision.
- Attention to Detail: Accurately process documents, handle sensitive employee data, and coordinate multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
What You Bring to the Table
Must-Have Skills:
- A proactive, self-starter mentality with the ability to take ownership of tasks.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with Adobe PDF tools.
- Prior experience working in an office environment or an HR/administrative role.
- Familiarity with employee recognition programs or payroll systems.
