QUALIFICATIONS:
Arizona Substitute Teacher Certification or Arizona Teacher Certification or ability to obtain an Emergency Substitute Certificate. Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Principal
JOB GOAL:
To assist professional staff members by performing a variety of tasks related to the operation of classrooms or other instructional areas. In the absence of the classroom teacher, the guest teacher provides instruction, encourages student progress, and manages the learning environment.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follows professional practices consistent with school district policies in working with students, students’ records, parents and colleagues.
- Maintains a discipline and classroom control that fosters a safe and positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with school district policies.
- Ensures the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Reports to office upon arrival at school; checks mailbox of absent teacher for materials requiring immediate attention; requests clarification of school rules and procedures, if necessary.
- Reports all student injuries, accidents, illnesses, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible.
- Implements lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
- Assists the teacher with planned activities and instructional programs.
- Records and files statistical data, grades, and reports.
- Assists in supervising students in the classroom, lunchroom, and on the playground under the supervision of a district certified staff member.
- Presents subject matter to students, utilizing variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion, and supervised role-playing, under the supervision of the teacher.
- Assists and/or proctors district and state bench mark assessments; such as but not limited to Galileo, AZELLA, AIMS and AIMS Web.
- Prepares, administers, and grades examinations.
- Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by building administrator(s) in accordance with school/division policies and practices.
- Assists the front office staff with clerical work as needed with the public, filing, confidential files and phone calls.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet and District software, and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and other appropriate technology software).
- Knowledge of appropriate business machines and telephones.
- Monitor special system(s), not limited to, including security and fire alarm systems.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Ten-month, employee pay and benefits in accordance with Board policy.
- FLSA: Non-Exempt
- Full Time Employee Benefits in accordance with Board policy.
EVALUATION:
- Performance to be evaluated in accordance with the Board policy on evaluation of support personnel.
