POSITION SUMMARY: The Group Fitness Instructor will lead the instruction of safe, professional, dynamic, and engaging Group Fitness classes for members at Hunters Run Country Club
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, develop, and deliver safe, fun & effective group fitness classes based on industry standards
- Tailor each class to the members, paying attention to people’s age, fitness levels, and any injuries or health concerns.
- Always conduct classes in an organized, fun and (most importantly) safe environment.
- Teach scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time.
- Always maintain a professional image and conduct yourself in a professional manner.
- Implement warm-up and cool down sections in each class.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive environment by refraining from negative discussions or gossip about members, colleagues, or internal matters. Address concerns them directly with the Director of Wellness & Aquatics.
- Present an appropriate wellness model to members.
- Ensure participant safety by monitoring techniques and equipment usage.
- Assist participants throughout the class.
- Stay updated on current fitness trends and incorporate new exercises or formats into classes to provide the best experience for our members.
- Ensure members sign in before or after class so proper participation can be monitored.
- Sign Group Fitness Instructor sign-in sheet before or after class.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized group fitness facility.
- Be available prior to and after classes to make sure that any set up and break down is done.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED certification
- At least 1 year of experience as a fitness instructor, leading group classes in a Country Club setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
- Active Group Fitness Certification from a nationally recognized organization (ex: ACE, AFAA, IDEA, etc.).
- General Liability Insurance in the amount of $1M and Worker’s Compensation covered at $500k, naming Hunters Run POA as additional insured.
- Ability to teach multiple classes. We are currently hiring Water Aerobics, Zumba, Disco & Dumbbells, Chair Fitness, and Barre instructors. The more versatile you are the better.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients of all fitness levels and backgrounds.
- Ability to create a positive and motivating atmosphere during classes and training sessions.

- Reliable, punctual, and professional in all aspects of the job.

- Be able to pick up and carry up to 25 pounds as needed.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

This is an independent contractor position, and the fitness instructor will be responsible for their own tax obligations, liability insurance, and equipment.
