About the Job
The Strategic Marketing Director will own the translation of the business strategy across Repligen’s market-leading Downstream Systems and Fluid Management areas; into annual demand generating programs and campaigns that drive customer preference, technology awareness and penetration and ultimately, revenue. This individual will develop marketing content and will outline complex customer journeys that engage different levels of the customer’s value chain as part of an overall demand generation strategy. Success will require strong and proven experience in global product commercialization, the ability to gain alignment of different stakeholders in a matrixed organization, to manage expectations, and to deliver on marketing deliverables for complex projects in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will develop integrated and multi-channel marketing strategies and the respective tactical calendar to achieve the marketing KPIs and overall business unit revenue targets.
The role is global in nature and reports into the Head of Global Marketing. The successful candidate must have a track record as both a strategic doer and a team leader; someone who can help craft and manage industry leading global marketing programs and tactical communications plans on tight deadlines, with competing priorities and with limited resources. The role has three reports.
Responsibilities:The Strategic Marketing Director will be responsible for:
- Understand key market trends, barriers, customer insights, and competitive information to identify what customers need to see from a scientific content perspective to consider Repligen’s solutions a fit for their workflows.
- Develop and execute effective content campaigns initiatives to drive growth and adoption of the Upstream and Downstream technology portfolios, and ultimately generate high-quality leads.
- Responsible for leading and driving the generation of all marketing assets required to drive the value proposition of the solutions in the target segments.
- Together with the Product Management and Applications Team, and other Marketing functions, build a strategic partnership through technical collaboration with external customer and internal stakeholders to produce technical data for creation of impactful technical collateral.
- Ensure all our marketing material are scientifically sound and linked to key stages of the customer buying process.
- Partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize program development, roll out, training, and implementation with measured results.
- Responsible for writing and graphical conception for technical guides, e-mail campaigns, video production, product web page and customer presentations with clear, concise, technically accurate and effective compositions.
- Successfully engage with internal creative/design team to create technically accurate and impactful graphics and creative content.
- Collaborate with the digital team, Strategic Marketing leaders and other stakeholders to measure and report marketing effectiveness through KPIs. Use insights from various sources of analytics to improve content strategies as well as to optimize campaigns when necessary.
- BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a relevant field. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of marketing experience in the life sciences, biopharma/bioprocessing technologies. Cell Culture, Chromatography and Filtration experience, or some combination, a plus.
- Candidate should understand the 4P’s and have demonstrated experience in brand marketing, market/customer segmentation, value proposition development, competitive analysis, marketing communications, and digital and traditional Go-to-Market strategies in a highly technical environment.
- Must have leadership and management experience of a marketing team and a track record in attracting, retaining, and developing talent.
- Ability to rapidly absorb detailed product information and technology value proposition and translate this information into correct messaging to be used across all tactics.
- Ability to work effectively on multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Superb cross-functional, project management and leadership skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to clearly convey concepts and strategies in verbal/written communications; able to simplify complexity and develop succinct and focused messages.
- Experience with conducting effective meetings and strong presentation skills.
- Appropriately shares own viewpoint and opinions, even when they may be negative or unpopular. Encourages the free exchange of information and opinion.
- Strong creative perspective and experience working on a variety of marketing campaigns from inception to completion to bring fresh ideas to our marketing campaigns in a collaborative manner.
- Comfortable in a global, fast-paced, rapidly growing and highly matrixed environment
