Position Overview
The Global Key Account Director will play a crucial role in managing and expanding strategic relationships with key clients in the consumer and retail sector. While the primary focus will be on promoting air and ocean freight products, this role demands a professional with an all-encompassing understanding of logistics and supply chain operations to offer integrated solutions that align with client objectives.
Key responsibilities include driving revenue growth, deepening client partnerships, and ensuring the organization’s full logistics portfolio—including freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution—is utilized effectively to meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for designated global key accounts in the consumer and retail space. Build and nurture long-term, trust-based relationships with client stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies to drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Align account plans with the client’s business goals and the company’s strategic objectives.
- Operational Excellence: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery across freight forwarding and contract logistics operations. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance client satisfaction.
- Revenue Growth: Identify and capitalize on upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts. Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms while maintaining strong client partnerships.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze account performance metrics, ensuring achievement of revenue, profitability, and service quality targets. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Work closely with regional and global teams to coordinate efforts, share insights, and implement best practices. Act as a liaison between clients and internal stakeholders to address challenges and achieve mutual success.
- Market Insights: Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitive dynamics within the consumer and retail sector. Use insights to inform strategic decisions and client engagements.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years’ experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a strong background in freight forwarding and exposure to contract logistics.
- Account Management Expertise: Proven ability to manage large, complex accounts on a global scale, preferably in the consumer and retail industry.
- Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic account plans that drive revenue growth and enhance client satisfaction.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Leadership: Strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of logistics and supply chain processes, including freight forwarding, warehousing, and distribution.
- Location Flexibility: Based in Seattle, Washington, or willing to relocate. Occasional international travel may be required.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., MBA, CSCP) are a plus.
